Presentation
Originating in neighbouring Switzerland, this tradition establishes a hierarchy in the herd: the black Hérens cows compete by pushing each other with their heads and horns, but without hurting each other. At the end of the jousting, the queen of the herd is chosen.
PROGRAMME :
* From 9am: arrival of the animals
* 10.30am/12pm and 2pm/5pm: cows fighting
* 12pm and 3pm: herding dog demonstration
Times may vary slightly depending on the progress and duration of the fights.
All day long:
* Presentation of a local breed of sheep
* Refreshments by "Les Compagnons des Reines
* Barbecue by the "Association des Parents d'Elèves du Biot
* Pony rides
* Woodwork workshops by "Les Bambins des Bois
* Giant wooden games
* Eco Gardes stand
Musical entertainment all day with "Les Viouls du Chablais.
You can eat on site (picnic tables and chairs available).
