How does the tourist tax work?
The tourist tax is a tax payable by holidaymakers staying in the valley. It is collected by accommodation providers and/or rental platforms, then paid to the Tourist Office. The calculation of the tourist tax varies depending on the category and classification of the tourist accommodation in question.
Get your furnished tourist accommodation classified
Getting your furnished apartment classified means:
- a guarantee of quality for your customers
- an attractive tax system: tax abatement, fixed tourist tax, CFE exemption in certain municipalities, etc.
- more effective promotion and marketing on brochures and websites
- a ranking valid for 5 years
- simplify the calculation for the tourist tax
The tourist office will assist you with the classification of your furnished accommodation.
Since 2024, Vallée d'Aulps Tourisme has been supporting owners of furnished rental properties. partners to have their accommodation(s) classified as "Furnished Tourist Accommodation".
In order to help the owner to have his accommodation(s) classified as "Furnished Tourist Accommodation", the tourist office has signed an agreement with "Innovation et Développement Tourisme 74", to cover 50% of the cost of the classification.
Coupled with the visibility benefits offered by Vallée d'Aulps Tourisme, becoming a partner as an accommodation provider is more than ever a good idea!
